Thigh skin tightening

Thanks to this operation, the aesthetic appearance of the thigh area is improved by removing excess skin and fat. Thigh skin tightening is especially relevant for patients who have lost a lot of body weight, when excess skin and the remaining fat layer appear in the thigh area.

How is the operation performed?

Thigh skin tightening is performed under general anesthesia and lasts 2-3 hours. During the operation, excess loose skin is removed. Incisions are usually made along the limb in an effort to minimize the post-operative scar.

The incision is made in the inner thigh. The postoperative scar is visible only from the side, it is not visible from the front or back. During the operation, the excess skin and fat layer in the inner thighs are removed, thereby narrowing the thighs and giving them more firmness. Often this operation is combined with liposuction of other areas of the thighs, so the thighs are given even more beautiful contours.

Skin tightening surgery can be combined with liposuction. Since fat cells do not grow back in the suctioned areas, even as the patient gains weight, new fat accumulates evenly throughout the body.

Postoperative care and healing

• A smoother, firmer thigh contour is noticeable immediately after the surgeries;
• A small, thin scar will remain at the site of the incision, which begins to fade after 8-12 weeks after the operation and then becomes very little visible;
• Post-operative scars should be protected from direct sunlight for at least half a year. Thigh lift results are long-lasting, but they largely depend on the patient's lifestyle, diet and physical activity;
• You need to be careful during the healing period - two weeks after the operation, you should not smoke, as smoking negatively affects blood circulation, which may impair wound healing;
• It is necessary to avoid physical exertion, active leisure time, not to do sports;
• Surgery is risky in patients with diabetes and other co-morbidities - there is a greater risk of poorer healing;
• After the operation, a special compression garment must be worn for 6-8 weeks, and bandages must be applied every 2-3 days;
• Threads, if non-dissolving ones are used, are removed after 2 weeks;
• After the operation, to achieve the maximum result, an individual course of lymphatic drainage massage is recommended.
