It happens that some have this problem from birth due to congenital malformation of the levator eyelid muscle.

How to prepare for eyelid surgery?

Eyelid lift

Removal of excess skin and/or fatty hernias from the eyelids usually takes about an hour. The skin is cut along the fold of the eyelid, and after making a second parallel cut a little higher, excess skin is removed, if necessary, fatty hernias are removed.

Plastic surgery of the upper and lower eyelids

During the operation of the lower eyelids, part of the fatty hernias are removed, and the like fat is evenly distributed over the entire eyelid. The incision is usually made in the conjunctiva - the inner surface of the eyelid. If the excess skin is very large, it is removed by making incisions on the outside of the eyelid.

Eye plastic surgery and eyebrow lift

Often eyelid plastic surgery is performed together with a brow lift. A surgically performed eyebrow lift operation usually takes 1-1.5 hours. The incisions are made at the hairline, the forehead tissues are separated up to the arch of the eyebrows. Superficial and deep fascia are sutured in the area of ​​the skin incision, raising the lateral corners of the eyebrows about 1 cm up. The incisions are sutured with dissolvable or non-dissolvable suture.

Postoperative period and healing

Special care

Immediately after the operation, the eyes are cooled with a special compress for several hours to minimize bruising and swelling. The eyes should be cooled for another day after the operation. Do not wear contact lenses for at least a few weeks. If pain is felt, it is recommended to take medicines prescribed by the doctor.

Healing and scarring

Postoperative wounds heal in 2-3 weeks. Hemorrhages usually disappear within a few weeks, but swelling may last a little longer. Swelling after surgery can make it difficult to close your eyes, and dry eyes can be bothersome, but this can be solved with the help of artificial tears. The plastic scars of the upper eyelids are almost invisible - they lie in the folds of the skin.

Active physical activity

Active physical activity, sports, and saunas should be avoided for a month after surgery. It is recommended to wear sunglasses to avoid direct sunlight.
