Tooth extraction

In some cases, tooth extraction is an unavoidable procedure to prevent possible complications or to prevent damage to the general condition of the oral cavity, teeth or jaw.

During tooth extraction, pain is not felt, as the procedure is performed using local anesthesia or, if necessary, sedation (medicated suppression of consciousness).

In many cases, an implant is threaded in place of the extracted tooth in order to protect the jaw from bone loss and other teeth from additional load and possible threats and complications.

Tooth extraction is usually required:

When the tooth is severely damaged and cannot be cured;

When the tooth is crooked and cannot be restored and there is a threat of damage to other teeth;

In case of irregular bite;

When the tooth is severely damaged by caries or other diseases and this threatens the development of other diseases;

When the soft tissues around the tooth are damaged or inflammation is observed.

Post-procedural period and healing

Usually, the sutures are removed after 7-10 days. If dissolvable sutures are used, there is no need to remove them, as they will dissolve by themselves in about 2-3 weeks.

You can eat 2 hours after the tooth extraction procedure. It is recommended to avoid hot food/drinks. You should chew on the opposite side, and in the first days choose soft food.

After tooth extraction, it is recommended not to smoke for 4-5 hours, and not to drink alcohol for at least a day.

Cheek swelling is possible after tooth extraction. To reduce it, it is recommended to freeze the area of ​​the tooth extraction by applying an ice pack to the face. Refrigerate for 15-20 minutes, then cook for 20 minutes. break and refrigerate again. Repeat this about 3-4 times.
