Jaw cyst removal

A cyst is a cavity filled with liquid or soft material (pulp) that forms in bone or soft tissues, as well as in the areas of the face, mouth, and jaw.

Cysts can be of several types:

Periapical cyst

The most common cyst is caused by dead or dead pulp inside the tooth, which in turn is caused by tooth decay or trauma, untreated or improperly treated tooth root. Most often, endodontic treatment is used, but if this treatment is not effective, then resection of the apex of the tooth root is performed, the cystic focus is cleaned, and the defect is filled with a bone substitute. If the tooth cannot be saved, the tooth is extracted and the cyst cavity is cleaned.

Root cysts or jaw cysts

Which form near or around the teeth. Cysts form slowly, but can be the cause of a weakened jaw and other complications. The main reasons for the appearance of a cyst can be a poorly or not healed root canal of a tooth or trauma to a tooth.

Follicular cyst 

Occurs around unerupted teeth, usually around lower wisdom teeth and upper canines.

Tumors are often asymptomatic and are diagnosed incidentally or when larger lesions develop. The treatment of the cyst is prescribed by the oral surgeon, taking into account the current situation and depending on the type, size and location of the cyst.
